Save Sandon Point Surfing Festival 2005

The contest was held over the weekend of Feb 19th - 20th, it was hailed a total success from organizes, spectators and competitors alike.

In it's 4th year this festival continues to promote the message of,
"SURFERS CAREING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT".

Encouraging everybody, one & all to become a little bit more environmentally conscience in their local community.

Saturday's action saw the contest moved from Sandon Point to Thirroul in highly contestable, glassy 3ft conditions. First round heats saw some
excellent surfing on display from all divisions, stand out surfers for the day were: Steve Elliot who was throwing massive amounts of spray, Simon Law ripping it up switch stance, Dru Parkinson popping some air but was without luck and did not progress to Sunday.

All our coast is under threat from over developtment join the fight for our coastline.
